However, while we have these amazing Tanning Solutions, why don’t and we will never say that we have a 100% Organic Spray Tan Solution like other manufacturers? The answer to the question is found when you are prepared to dig a little deeper.
Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is the most widely used active ingredient in Spray Tanning today. It is manufactured from various natural sources, including sugar beet and even rape seed. It is in the process of extraction that synthetic ingredients are used thus making DHA non-organic.
Many companies still claim to offer 100% Organic DHA, these companies have in the past been warned that the Eco Cert Organic Certification granted to DHA is reserved for non-organic raw materials and the document that these companies claim is an organic certification is not an organic certificate. It clearly states it is for all natural certification.
Go Brown solutions is classed as natural as it contains eco certified DHA, eco-certified coloring, and other ingredients which is also verified as natural.

Though our tans use eco-certified, natural and contain hypoallergenic ingredients, still adopt the point of referring to your medical provider before the use of any spray tan during your pregnancy. Despite having tanned many pregnant ladies over the years, your safety is paramount to us.
DHA has been used as a cosmetic ingredient since 1960 and no problems have ever been reported concerning DHA penetrating the skin. The FDA recommends avoiding exposure to mucous membranes, inhalation and ingestion.
It is all in the Name ...”GO BROWN” ! There is no reason for your tan to go orange but here are potentially 3 reasons why a tan would go Orange.
1. The orange discoloration is due to improper skin care either before or after your spray tan. Follow our prep and aftercare instructions and you will be the perfect shade of tan.
2. Some medication may influences the skins Ph levels and hormones, this will cause an orange undertone. It is best practice to inform your Go Brown Technician should you be on any medication.
3. Lastly due to color mixology, which is when the solution used is wayyy to dark for the clients skin type and it is left on too long.
No. It should not. But in very rare conditions a very acidic skin my cause an odor that seems a bit “fishy” or “yeasty”. This odor is directly related to DHA development chemistry and your skin. Using a lower level DHA product may be less smelly, vs a darker blend (or higher DHA level).
Some strong medications, including anti-depressants, menopausal, hormone replacement therapy, blood thinning medication, antibiotics, contraceptive pill (on the odd occasion), cortisone creams and acne medication (primarily oral Vitamin A) and steroids can affect skin’s pH balance, making it difficult for the DHA to react with it, resulting in an uneven and patchy tan. In rare cases, the tan may not even develop!

We suggest tanning 1-2 days before your event, so Thursday or Friday would be best.
For weddings, 2 days before will give you a more natural look.
Heading off on holiday? The night before is best. However, this is just a rough guideline, and we can always tailor our tan application to work with your schedule.
Your spray tan will usually take 15–20 minutes, but we just can’t get enough of you. So we allocate a full 30 minutes for each client visit. If you can please try and be 10 - 15 minutes early for your appointment and be ready to spray tan if a Go Brown Tech is coming to you.
You can wear your bathers, underwear, or a disposable g-string or go completely naked – whatever makes you feel most comfortable. Male clients have to wear a speedo or remain in their boxers or briefs.
Go Brown solutions are categorized as follows: Those with Bronzer, Clear and Rapid.
Bronzers in solution are mainly there in spray tanning solution so that your spray tan technician has a guide of where to spray and so that the client/person being sprayed, can see an initial color, however the DHA is what is really working its magic to tan a persons skin. Our Clear spray tanning solution is a great option if you don’t want the initial bronzers and like a very minimal clear spray tan. if you enjoy having that straight off the beach color right after your spray tan, the best option for you is to have a tinted bronzer based tan such as the Original or Pro Lux. If you are wanting a result that is seen quicker and do not have 8 hours to wait for the tan to develop then we highly recommend the Rapid, a tan that will develop with in 3-4 hours.
The great thing to know, is that no matter what you choose, you will receive the same end result of a tan after your first rinse and once your tan has fully developed.
We highly recommended that you wear loose and comfortable dark clothing after your spray tanning appointment. Go Brown tanning solutions, in most cases, will not stain clothing and any slight rub-off should come out in the wash. However, some staining may occur on any light colored leather, acrylic or other sensitive fabrics.

Prior to attending a spray tan session, Go Brown recommends you cleanse and exfoliate your body with SHIBUMI Body Polish and SHIBUMI Kessa Exfoliating Gloves. This will ensure the best possible result from your spray tan by eliminating the top layers of dry and dead skin. It is also best to avoid the use of deodorants and moisturizers and any other products that may inhibit the effectiveness of the Go Brown tanning solution.

Your Go Brown tan will start to develop straight away. For the best possible results, you should avoid the following within the first 8 hours or 2-5 hours for the Rapid Tans after application:
Water
Saunas / spas
Physical exercise / sweating
Swimming
Tight fitting clothing and shoes
The life of your spray tan depends on your after care! Depending on how well you take care of your skin- your Go Brown Tan should last anywhere from 5-7 days. However, we have many customers that keep their glows for up to 10-14 days with proper prep and aftercare.
Don’t worry, what you have rinsed off in the shower is the bronzer not the tan itself. Your tan will continue to develop for the next 12 hours after application, so give your tan this time to develop so you can see the final result.
YES you MUST. Go Brown tanning solution do not provide any useful protection against harmful UV rays. At Go Brown we will always recommend that you use an approved SPF 30+ sunscreen 15 minutes prior to sun exposure and following the manufacturer’s instructions.
Your spray tan can be extended through the use of one of the following products: SHIBUMI EXTEND, SHABUMI SMOOTH and SHIBUMI OPTIMISE or even extend your tan with the SHIBUMI WASH LUXE Soap. Please note that: You should avoid excessive exposure to hot or chlorinated water and any form of exfoliation during the life of your spray tan.
